International & Regional Resolutions signed by Yemen

The government of Yemen has signed 58 international and regional treaties and conventions, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination.  All these agreements affirm fundamental freedoms including freedom of belief, and they criminalize all procedures, decisions and provisions that limit these freedoms or expose individuals to harassment or persecution due to belief or religious affiliation; recognizing that the freedom of thought, belief and religious expression as basic human rights.
